2nd Quarter of 1984
This item is in Near Mint Condition. This set appears unused, but has some possible sharpening marks and some running sheath scratches along the blade on both sides of the main knife.. The Model 3587 only shows one obvious scratch on the knife edge. Again, the possibility of a sharpening stone. They are light and only seen from a few angles. Just wanting to point those out. Otherwise, it is a big, beautiful set. The stag is magnificent on both sides. The blade etching on both knives is especially nice and deep. The sheath is nice, but starting to need some attention and leather conditioning, especially around the pin and ball closure straps. These sets are becoming increasingly difficult to find now.
The German name for these sets is Waidbestecke. Waid is the old German word for Hunter, and Bestecke means Cutlery. So, it translates in English as a Hunter’s Cutlery Set. Just some interesting information for you.
It’s a beautiful Set to pick up for use or for a collection.
