This item is in Mint Condition. Commemorating 150 years of Texas. (1836-1986) this Bowie
depicts the Old 300, the original group of 300 settlers brought to Texas by Moses Austin and his son Stephen F. Austin in the 1820s. Indians, the Alamo, the Oil Boom, and the first President of the Republic, Sam Houston, are also depicted.
The gold work is done by Aurum Etchings of Dallas, Texas, now closed, and was the subject of a EPA Super Fund site for chemical contamination.
Some issues with the blade, occurring, I think, during the etching process, resulting in some blade scuffs. There is also a Carbon spot on the reverse side of the blade is evident but not big.
Complete with Box, Sheath, and Certificate.
Overall, a very nice piece, which is very hard to come by. 300 pieces were made over 30 years ago.
