This item is in mint condition. It is a real pleasure to bring this one to the collecting community. A rare piece and also in a special category of being made prior to 1964. It is a beautiful knife and in the box with original papers.  The blade is absolutely mint. The box is for a 943 but it was very common for dealers to mix up boxes after showing knives to a customer. It should not be considered a detraction on the knife. The only flaw in the knife is a pin crack in the Sambar stag on the Obverse side on the rear pin. This is also common with old stag when it dries and shrinks with age causing stress to the pinned stag.  The photos show the overall beauty of this knife as well as the flaw. I have seen only three of the 947’s for sale.  Being made before 1964 makes it even more special.
