Circa 1960
This item is in Mint Condition. This model was made for and sold by Abercrombie & Fitch. At that time, A&F was one of the largest outfitters in the world, selling Hunting and Fishing equipment. If you were going on Safari in Africa, most likely your equipment was bought through A&F.
This is a fishing knife complete with a priest. The priest’s purpose was to knock the fish on the head to subdue it. Giving it last rites, so to speak. This model by A&F was the little brother to the Puma Model 937 and 501. These larger models had a weighing scale on the blade. The priest was also the counterbalance to the scale to weigh your catch.
This knife is in very nice condition, making it a highly desirable and rare piece for the collection. IT is a nice opportunity to pick one up.
